About
I am a graduate of the University of Alabama with three years of experience in the communications field. I have a passion for both the sports and entertainment industries where I want to develop and strengthen my skills in branding, storytelling, and media relations. I recently completed my internship as a football communications assistant for the Atlanta Falcons, an NFL team, where I assisted with media availability for players and coaches. I served as primary media contact for player community events in the City of Atlanta, authored press releases, sections of the weekly release, and player bios, as well as oversaw the development of the gameday assistants.
During my time at the University of Alabama I majored in Public Relations with a concentration in Sport and Entertainment Communication Management and minored in Communication Studies. I was a member of the Public Relations Council of Alabama (PRCA), Public Relations Student Society of America (PRCA), and the Capstone Communication Student Society (CCSS). Being apart of these organizations during my time at the university allowed me to learn more in depth about the career of public relations, the work that publicist do, and collaborate with fellow PR students to lead communication efforts on campus. I had the opportunity to work with NASCAR in conjunction with FOX Sports to put together an integrated marketing communications plan for the Geico 500 race that is held annually at the Talladega Super Speedway in Talladega, AL. This communication plan focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion and increasing the interest of Gen Z in NASCAR.
I also interned with the United States Football League (USFL) during their inaugural season as a Communications Assistant. I coordinated and facilitated interviews with players and executives of the league, served as a point of contact for media members in the Birmingham. AL area, and facilitated post-game press conferences.
All of the work experiences that I have obtained thus far has allowed me to be confident in my work as a communications professional and deepen my understanding of branding, media relations, storytelling, and audience engagement.
